But to his dismay, Balduino Madrid quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Clemente Clayton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adnan Menderes, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Fabricio Alcott's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 23rdth minute, Isidoro Balboa skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Las Terrenas's Isidoro Balboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Las Terrenas from getting a goal against them. 28 minutes into the match, Guayaubín's goal looked a bit too open when Adnan Menderes came free, but Clemente Clayton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Guayaubín defense, Adnan Menderes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Clemente Clayton. The Guayaubín fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Clemente Clayton should have stopped the shot. In the 38th minute of the match, Fabricio Alcott tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Isidoro Balboa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Isidoro Balboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabricio Alcott in the 44th minute of play. The supporters of Las Terrenas booed when Guayaubín was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conrado Bosch didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Las Terrenas were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
