In the 8th minute, Pascual Reynoso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Royal Caribbean's Chus Rodríguez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jesús Boyd in the 10th minute of play. A collision led to El Peñón FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Anthony Canal hit a great ball. After 14 minutes of play, El Peñón FC's Anthony Canal made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Chus Rodríguez was left in no man's land by his defense there! 19 minutes into the match, Royal Caribbean's goal looked a bit too open when Anthony Canal came free, but Chus Rodríguez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roman Baibakov got free with Adolfo Zambrano in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 24th minute of the game. One of El Peñón FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Royal Caribbean:s goal. After 27 minutes, Celestino Carreón mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Peñón FC and the Royal Caribbean players grew even worse after the yellow card. Celestino Carreón kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Tobias Guzmán struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Adolfo Zambrano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Royal Caribbean. 30 minutes into the game, Jesús Boyd cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Chus Rodríguez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mauro Canal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Chus Rodríguez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jesús Boyd took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Chus Rodríguez. Chus Rodríguez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Adolfo Zambrano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tobias Guzmán in the 38th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the match, Royal Caribbean's Roman Baibakov sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adolfo Zambrano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Pablo Chapado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th minute Anthony Canal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chus Rodríguez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Royal Caribbean's Runelvys Armstrong got a free kick in the 45th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jesús Boyd was the one to do the kick off. Chus Rodríguez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anthony Canal in the 65th minute. 67 minutes into the game, El Peñón FC's Anthony Canal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Chus Rodríguez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-5. If Tobias Guzmán had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Roman Baibakov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Royal Caribbean's Humberto Carrera got a free kick in the 81st minute. El Peñón FC's Mauro Canal got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Santino Coronel was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 88 minutes into the match. The referee gave El Peñón FC a penalty, 91 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Anastas Tejada, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Royal Caribbean's Chus Rodríguez. 2-7. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jesús Boyd in the 98th minute of play forced Royal Caribbean's goalkeeper Chus Rodríguez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The El Peñón FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
