The audience thought a goal was coming when Celestino Carreón got free with Roman Baibakov in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 9 played minutes, Royal Caribbean's Ignacio Dickson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Adolfo Zambrano came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Royal Caribbean reached it. Royal Caribbean's Roman Baibakov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jesús Boyd in the 12th minute of play. Buenaventura Zambrano struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Adolfo Zambrano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Royal Caribbean. If Andrew Olivas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Jesús Boyd kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Roman Baibakov. That made the score 1-0 in the 18 minute of play. Mauro Canal might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Roman Baibakov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mauro Canal ran back to his position shaking his head. Anthony Canal hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. In the 28th match minute, El Peñón FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celestino Carreón to maneuver through the defense. Roman Baibakov made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anthony Canal in the 30th minute. Adolfo Zambrano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Banister in the 32nd minute of the match. 34 minutes into the match, El Peñón FC's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Banister came free, but Adolfo Zambrano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roman Baibakov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jesús Boyd in the 39th minute of the match. In the 40th minute, Royal Caribbean's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Anthony Canal fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Royal Caribbean's zone, Jesús Boyd stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roman Baibakov came out of the goal and Jesús Boyd tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. El Peñón FC's Mauro Canal got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Andrew Olivas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Andrew Olivas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 59th minute Anthony Canal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roman Baibakov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 60th match minute, Royal Caribbean was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Banister to maneuver through the defense. Roman Baibakov stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anthony Canal's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Buenaventura Zambrano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Adolfo Zambrano made a huge save. 67 minutes into the game, Mauro Canal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El Peñón FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Royal Caribbean the free kick. After 67 played minutes El Peñón FC got a freekick which was hit by Mauro Canal. If Buenaventura Zambrano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anthony Canal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Roman Baibakov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anthony Canal struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Roman Baibakov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Peñón FC. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Andrew Olivas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Royal Caribbean's supporters rose to their feet, but Andrew Olivas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adolfo Zambrano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Royal Caribbean's Roman Baibakov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jesús Boyd in the 87th minute of play. Fausto Rendón charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fausto Rendón the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Fausto Rendón kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Roman Baibakov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anthony Canal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee ended the match the El Peñón FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
